The Centro Agricoltura Ambiente is engaged in environmental research in particular in the field of medical entomology, agrarian entomology, palynology and palaeo-archaeobotany.
CAA collaborates with large national and international research structures such as the universities of Bologna, Parma, Reggio-Emilia, “ La Sapienza “of Rome, both international as the IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency) of Vienna.
The Palinology and Archaeobotanical Laboratory equipped for the study of macro (seeds / fruits, woods / charcols) and botanical micro-remains (pollen grains, spores and other sporomorphs) is located at the headquarters of San Giovanni in Persiceto (BO).
The Crevalcore laboratory facility is divided into two specific sectors: one of medical entomology suitable for operating safely in the study of pathogens transmitted by vectors (BL3), the other equipped with the contribution of the Cassa di Risparmio di Bologna Foundation, for research in the agricultural, environmental and entomological fields (Bioassey Center).
The laboratories are managed by young and highly specialized personnel.
