The Laboratory has the classical instrumentation for pollen and archaeobotanical analysis: a suction hood for preparations with chemical reagents, two centrifuges, glassware, oven, thermostatic stove, precision balance, salinity meters, pH meter, biological microscopes and stereomicroscopes equipped with photographic equipment. The library and the collection of publications and articles in the archive of the Botanical and Archaeobotanical Laboratory are comprehensive and numerous and samples of macro pollen are also available.
The Laboratory has two large warehouses for the storage of archaeobotanical materials taken from archaeological sites and for the conservation of archaeological woods in water and an additional space for the restoration of wood.
It is possible to visit the Laboratory, carry out educational activities and practical workshops with schools of all levels, collaborate through internships / training internships, undertake research activities with degree theses and doctorates or the proposed training courses, carried out in collaboration with the Environmental Archaeological Museum of San Giovanni in Persiceto, partner of the Laboratory.
